Technology Will Never Replace Real Estate Agents...This Is Why

First of all, have you ever seen a therapist in the form of a laptop or tablet? Probably not. Like many other professionals, real estate agents are a jack of all trades. Although, not legally, agents frequently play the role of a contractor, lawyer, accountant, therapist, and more. Buying and selling real estate of any kind is extremely stressful and a significant transaction.

A good agent has a sense of community after growing with the area in which they serve. For example, an app on a smartphone can certainly tell you the hottest places for coffee, drinks after work, music venues, boutiques, etc... but what stories can that app add, and what real life experience can that software portray to someone moving across the country for a first job away from all friends and family? In more cases than none, your real estate agent becomes your very first friend when moving to an unfamiliar area.

In no means is technology being bashed in this article, in fact, technology is a necessity in today's real estate industry along with other professions. Technology simply aides the work of an agent, streamlining countless pages of extensive contracts and allowing agents to send and store them efficiently. All good agents have moved with the times and are equipped with the latest technology, but like mentioned above, it is simply a tool utilized by agents, not a replacement.
